WESTIE NIGHT (Saturday, March 17!)

Join us this Saturday, March 17th from 7p to 11p (or later) at the Anchor Room for a West Coast Swing lesson and 3+ hours of open dancing dedicated to WCS (or whatever you hear in the music ;).

It’s also St. Patrick’s Day, so make sure to wear something green – or bring in a green treat to share! 

This Saturday, Austin will be co-teaching with 15+ year WCS veteran, Elisha Catts, to bring you a lesson that focuses on fundamentals. We’re also trying out a fun little warm-up drill to get everyone in the rhythm and trying simple footwork styling options!

More Westie Nights!
We’re gradually increasing the amount of West Coast Swing happening around Fort Wayne. The first step in that is adding select Saturdays to our “Monthly” Westie Night rotation. Our Westie Night in February was a great hit, so now we are experimenting to see how 1 Sunday + 1 Saturday works with our community.

While the first two have conflicted with local events, it looks like clear sailing for most of 2018 to not conflict with major local dance events (like Goshen and Van Wert).

Practice, practice, practice!
The next step of my personal mission for the Fort Wayne Westies is to implement a “practice night” to work on specific things that you and other fellow Westies want are focusing on. I’m open to helping beginner dancers get their basics and fundamentals down, but these practice nights are designed to give YOU the opportunity to practice in a studio + work with a partner + discuss concepts that are relevant to your progress in WCS.
